In Hudeshope Valley approximately 1.5km N of Middleton-in-Teesdale reached by a public footpath.

A range of four limekilns of different ages and of considerable historic interest. The first of these impressive kilns was built early in the 18thC. After lying idle for many years it was renovated in 1939. The second kiln was built in the second half of the 19thC, followed by the third early in the 20thC. The fourth and final kiln, now collapsed, was built in 1941 to help meet wartime demand for lime. Production continued until 1960.
