Carrs Shop (1815/20)
Carrs mineshop was probably built when work on Carrs Mine horse level began. It provided a dry store for tools, candles, fuses and gunpowder. In the early 20th century the building was used as a lodging shop by a small group of Italian miners.

Timber Yard and Joinery Workshops (1850-55)
Large stocks of timber from the London Lead Company plantations were stored in the walled yard. Joiners and carpenters worked in the open-fronted saw mill and alongside miners underground when specialist timbering needed to be fitted.

Engineering Workshops (1850-55)
In the Engineering Workshops skilled millwrights and blacksmiths undertook the design and manufacture of custom-made equipment and tools. Other craftsmen attended to the maintenance and repair of tools, trucks and equipment.

Dressing Floors and Crushing Mills
There were three main dressing floors at Nenthead. On the largest, at Rampgill, the London Lead Company built a dressing mill which was replaced in 1909 by the Vieille Montagne Zinc Company with a huge gravity feed mill. This was adapted in 1949 to house a flotation plant for fluorspar.

Today, "The Power of Water" is on the site where water-powered stamps once crushed ore ready for smelting.
