Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
In January 2005, the NPHT launched a Virtual Learning Environment that enables schools anywhere in the world to have secure access to the site through individually created usernames and passwords. The VLE includes a wide range of educational written and photographic archives and allows visitors to embark on virtual site and mine tours. It is also possible for participating schools to contribute to the VLE themselves and for pupils to have a controlled link to other students, teachers and the NPHT education team both from home and in school.
