New for 2008-09:
Fossil Hunter introduces pupils to Geology by creating a timeline of the Earth, uncovering and researching fossils and by making an edible fossil.
Fossil Hunter is an interactive outreach workshop that includes practical activity and written recording so that pupils can discover all the tasks undertaken by a palaeontologist. Why not follow up Fossil Hunter with a Rock Safari at Nenthead Mines?

Glow In The Dark
As the days grow shorter, the Autumn term is perfect for looking at Light and Dark. The Glow In The Dark workshop has been designed with this unit of the curriculum in mind. Pupils will look at different objects to predict which give light, make a glow in the dark badge and then take a trip into our 300 year old mine.
Pupils will experience total darkness and will be able to test their predictions underground.
